Mr. Lester L. Kuehn, 81, of Seymour, IN passed away on Friday, April 3, 2015, in his home with his loving family by his side.
Lester was born in Honeytown, Indiana on August 19, 1933. He was the son of the the late Martin and Stella (Redicker) Kuehn.
On December 12, 1998, at the St. Peter Lutheran Church in Brownstown, IN, he married Ethel (Lay) Matlock Kuehn.
Lester was a member of the St. Peter Lutheran Church in Brownstown, IN. He graduated from Cortland High School with the class of 1951. He then joined the Air Force where he served for 4 years. He then pursued a teaching degree in Socials Studies and Business at Ball State University.
Lester loved to travel with his wife and they especially loved spending some of the winter months in Florida. As a teacher, Lester lived in many different locations throughout the US. Lester’s mother had three sets of twins and their story made front page news in Jackson County.
He is survived by his wife; his two sons, David Russell (Megan) Kuehn and Eric Martin (Amy) Kuehn, two grandchildren Nicholas and Matthew Kuehn, 4 step children, Margaret Matlock, Roger (Luann) Matlock, Scott (Nancy) Matlock and Linda (Stephen) Goins, several step grand and step great grand, three sisters Vivian (Ralph) Spurgeon, Lois Boswell and Larna (Wendell) Smith.
He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers Harold and Lowell Kuehn and two sisters Helen Schlehuser and Marian Eckelman.
Funeral services will be held at Voss Chapel on Wednesday, April 8 at 2:00 p.m., with The Rev. Scott Brown, officiating.
Friends may call at Voss Funeral Service on Tuesday from 4 to 8 p.m. and Wednesday after 1:00 p.m. until time of service.
Burial will follow at Reddington Cemetery.
Memorials may be given to Reddington Christian Church, Hospice of Schneck Medical Center and St. Peter’s Lutheran (Church or school).
