Lloyd Francis Hines, 89, of Seymour, Indiana, passed away on Friday, December 20, 2019, at his home surrounded by his family.

Lloyd was born in Indianapolis, Indiana, to the late Edith and Melvin Hines.

On July 21, 1950, he married June Helen VonFange. She survives.

He is survived by his son; Fred (Jan) Hines, daughters; Linda (Thomas) Harleman, Laura (Joe) Marsh, LouAnn (Rick) Engel, 6 grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren, sisters; Lillian Boas, Marilyn Boardman and Margaret Kiemeyer.

Lloyd was preceded in death by his parents, daughter Karen Kay Hines; brothers; Lawrence Hines, Charles Hines and sister; Lois King.

Lloyd was a 1948 graduate of Shields High School where he earned his varsity letter playing second base for the Owls baseball team. He also enjoyed gardening, playing softball, watching the Indiana Hoosiers, Indianapolis Colts, and the Indiana Pacers.

Any citizen of Seymour at all familiar with his community, enjoyed stopping on the street for a chat with Lloyd Hines. He was a fixture around town, always washing windows, cleaning offices and just generally sprucing things up. In addition to hard work, there is nothing he enjoyed more than sharing his philosophy of life with the locals.

His Memorial Service will be held at Voss & Sons Funeral Service on Monday, December 23, 2019, at 2:00 pm. Burial will follow at Riverview Cemetery in Seymour, Indiana.

Friends and family may call at Voss & Sons Funeral Service on Sunday, December 22, 2019, from 4-6 pm and on Monday December 23, 2019, from 1 pm until time of service.

Memorials may be written to Schneck Medical Center Hospice or donors’ choice, in care of Voss & Sons Funeral Service.
