Lois “Kathy” (DeBusk) Noblitt, 73, of North Vernon passed away peacefully at I.U. Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis at 3 a.m. Tuesday, September 3, 2024. She was born January 20, 1951, in Greensburg, Indiana to the late Donald DeBusk and Lois (Oliver) Snodderly.
Kathy was a graduate of Jennings County High School. She married John Noblitt in August of 1972, and they shared nearly thirty years together before his passing in June of 2002. Kathy worked at Ponderosa, JC Penney, and A Total Tan. She took great pride in her flower gardens, and she also grew vegetables, which she canned. She was known as an excellent cook; her homemade noodles were simply the best, and her pies were amazing! Kathy had a passion for travel and visited many places worldwide, including Bolivia, Puerto Rico, Hawaii, Mexico, and the Dominican Republic.
But Kathy’s greatest joy in life was as a Mom and Grandma. She is survived by her children, Troy (Carol) Noblitt and Tami (J.T.) Sturgeon; grandchildren, Breanna (Basile Hamilton) Noblitt, Brooklyn Noblitt, Jake Sturgeon, and Toby Sturgeon; her pride and joy, great-granddaughter Berkley Hamilton; her long-time companion, Larry Rascoe; his children, Brian (Ann) Rascoe, Tina (Matt) Fleetwood, and Brett Rascoe; his grandchildren; and his great grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her parents, listed above; the father of her children, John Noblitt; her brother, Mike DeBusk; and her sister, Flo Snodderly.
