Lou Ann Sams, age 67, passed away February 28, 2021 in Franklin, Indiana. She was born September 9, 1953 in Bedford, Indiana to the late George F. and Lou Ellen (Sanders) Geabes. She married Archie L Sams on August 13, 1975. He preceded her in death October 28, 2013.
Ann was sharp witted, had the “gift of gab” and enjoyed learning and the pursuance of new things. She had a passion for all sorts of animals, loved training dogs and was a skilled horsewoman. Ann enjoyed aiding others and she operated Country Herb and Nutrition in Crothersville, IN for many years.
Ann had a creative flare and was very artistically inclined. She operated a ceramics business for multiple years and was a very skilled painter. Ann also enjoyed sewing, quilting, and crocheting. She took great pleasure in making it up as she went along, and each mistake or problem gave light to a creative remedy or solution.
Ann is survived by her brothers Scott Geabes (Suzann) and John Paul Geabes; two Daughters Jennifer Engle (Steve) and Bambi Geabes; Grandchildren Lauren Spencer (Stephen), Cynthia Jones (Justin), Sarah Shepherd (Tyrus), La Kota Robinson, Dustin Robinson, Kaylee (Dawson) Beed; 10 great grandchildren and her nephew John Paul (Lisa) Geabes Jr and Katilyn Geabes. All of these she loved and touched deeply.
In addition to her husband and parents she was preceded in death by her daughter Fredericka Sams, her stepdaughter Tracie Sams and her niece Tina Geabes.
A memorial visitation will be on Thursday, March 4, 2021 from 5:30pm until time of service at 6:30pm.
A memorial service will be conducted on Thursday, March 4, 2021 at 6:30pm at Voss & Sons Funeral Service in Seymour with Rev. Jeff Hood officiating. A Burial will be at a later date at the First Marion Baptist Church Cemetery.
Memorial donations may be made in honor of Lou Ann through the funeral home to the First Marion Baptist Church Cemetery fund or donors’ choice.
