Martha A. Floyd, 91, of Seymour, Indiana, passed away on Wednesday, December 25, 2019, at the Covered Bridge Health Campus.

Martha was born in Stinesville, Indiana, to the late Mary and Lovel Childers.

On October 15, 1950, she married Wyatt Leslie Floyd.

She is survived by her son; Carlyle (Becky) Floyd, 3 grandchildren; Kristin (Jason) Crowell, Nathan (Jessica) Floyd, Aaron (Jessica) Floyd, 5 great-grandchildren, Kaylie Floyd, Braylon Floyd, Beckham Floyd, Matthew Floyd, and Quincy Crowell.

Martha was preceded in death by her parents and husband.

Martha was a 65-year member of the First Baptist Church of Seymour, and active in the Rebekah Sunday School Class. She was an avid volunteer with the Schneck Hospital Guild, giving more than 15,000 hours of service.

She prided herself on being an involved grandmother, even taking the time to collect basketball and baseball cards so she could have lively conversations with her grandsons.

Her funeral service will be held at Voss & Sons Funeral Home on Monday, December 30, 2019, at 11:00 am. Burial will follow at Friends Cemetery (Stahl’s Corner) in Seymour, Indiana.

Friends and family may call at Voss & Sons Funeral Home on Sunday, December 29, 2019, from 1-4 pm and on Monday December 30, 2019, from 10 am until time of service.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be written to First Baptist Church of Seymour and Schneck Hospital Guild, in care of Voss & Sons Funeral Service.

Thinking back on our Stinesville heritage, my parents were blessed with the helping hand of our older cousin Martha. Although I know my oldest brother Jerry was her favorite, I'm sure I ran a close second. Living across the street made it easy to be together daily. Even when she met Wyatt and moved away, we've always been able to stop stay in touch and had a good visit this past fall.

I loved Martha. She was my grandma Shutters roommate at Covered Bridge so I got to spend a lot of time with her. The bond she and my grandma had was so precious. Sending love and prayers to your family.
