Mary Jane Smith

November 1, 1953 - December 23, 2015

Mary Jane Smith, 62, of Seymour, Indiana, passed away Wednesday, December 23, 2015, at home with her three favorite things, her family, her animals and Christmas.

She was born November 1, 1953, in Scottsburg, Indiana, the daughter of the late, George Gladden and Ruby (Miller) Gladden Burke.

She married Randolph “Randy” Smith III on February 21, 1971, in Seymour, Indiana.

Mary graduated Arsenal Tech High School in Indianapolis, Indiana and went on to obtain an Associates degree in Accounting from Ivy Tech Community College. She worked as an accountant at Bowling Transport. She was an animal care taker and enjoyed bowling, watching birds and squirrels, and enjoyed playing cards with the Seymour Euchre Club.

She is survived by her husband Randy, her two sons, Randolph “R.J.” (Kelly) Smith IV, Adam Wade (Trish) Smith, her brothers, Robert (Julie) Gladden, Kevin (Maretta) Burke and David Brantley, her sisters, Sharon Wilson and Lisa Snider.

She is preceded in death by her parents, her daughter, Veronica Smith, her sister, Judy Hall, her father-in-law, Randolph “Smitty” Smith II, and her mother-in-law, Ethel G. Smith.

Funeral service will be at Voss Chapel on Tuesday, December 29, 2015, at 1:00 pm with Rev. Keith Ross officiating. Burial will follow at Riverview Cemetery.

Friends and family may call at Voss Chapel Monday, December 28, 2015 from 4 to 8 pm and at 12:00 pm on Tuesday until time of service.
