Mary L. Helmbrecht Butler

Mary L. Helmbrecht Butler, 92 of Seymour, Indiana, passed away Thursday, December 1, 2016, at Forest Path at Lutheran Community Home in Seymour, Indiana.

She was born April 20, 1924, in Seymour, Indiana, the daughter of Lawrence and Maud (Bowell) Helmbrecht.

She married Floyd “Bud” Butler on November 28, 1946, in Seymour, Indiana.

Mary was a member of Central Christian Church. She was a Girl Scout Leader for many years. She was a painter who loved playing Bingo and sitting on her front porch.

She is survived by her children, Linda Jordan, Larry Butler and Susie Shirley; grandchildren, Joe and Brent Jordan, Kelly Weisenburger, Kristin Drake and Baron and Brigette Shirley; seven great-grandchildren, sons-in-law, Michael Jordan and Terry Shirley; and two step-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, brothers, Bill Helmbrecht, Jim Helmbrecht, Max Helmbrecht and an infant brother, Robert Helmbrecht.

Funeral service will be held at Voss Chapel on Monday, December 5, 2016, at 1:00 pm with Rev. Kit Bogan assisted by Rev. Shellie Riggs Jordan officiating. Burial will follow at Riverview Cemetery.

Friends and family may gather at Voss Chapel on Monday after 11:00 am until time of service.
