Mr. Michael Chad Wheeler, 41, of North Vernon, passed away on Thursday, September 7, 2017, at St. Vincent Hospital in Indianapolis. He was born June 26, 1976, to Michael ‘Mike’ and Flora (Wischmeier) Wheeler. He was a member of St. Peter’s Lutheran Church in Columbus. He worked at Biehle Electric as an electrician and was very knowledgeable about so many things. He was extremely good about controlling all situations. Mike enjoyed woodworking and was considered a very good and handy craftsman. He enjoyed being outdoors horseback riding, camping, and fishing. He liked to work with his cattle on the farm. Mike is survived by his parents; sisters, Connie (Rick) Wilson, Barbara (Dave) Thompson, and Donna (Dave) Moore; several aunts and uncles; and nieces and nephews, Kayla, Krystal, Kyle, Caroline, Dylan, Mallory, Stephanie, Jon, and Tyler. He is preceded in death by his grandparents: Oren and Selma Wischmeier and Arthur “Buck” and Rosie Wheeler. Funeral services will be at St. Peter’s Lutheran Church, (719 5th St) Columbus, on Wednesday, September 13, at 1 pm with Pastor Pat Galligar officiating and organist Lisa Lohmeyer. Burial will follow at Flat Rock Baptist Church Cemetery, Bartholomew County. Family and friends may call at Voss & Sons Funeral Service (316 N. Chestnut St) Seymour on Tuesday, September 12, from 3 to 8 pm and at the church on Wednesday, after 12 noon, until time of service. Memorials may be written to St. Peter’s Lutheran Church, Lutheran Hour, Hospice of Jennings County or Charity of Choice, in care of Voss & Sons Funeral Service.
