Michael Donald Healy

May 19, 1989 - February 17, 2015

Mr. Michael Donald Healy, 25, of Seymour, passed away on Tuesday, February 17, 2015 after a motor vehicle accident.
Michael was born on May 19, 1989 to Mike and Patti Healy, in Atlanta, GA.
He attended Immanuel Lutheran School where he was involved in many sports and Trinity Lutheran High School where he was a 2007 graduate.
He was a member of Redeemer Lutheran Church. Michael was a personable young gentleman. His love of cars, motorcycles, and sports were all passions that made Michael a friend of everyone he met. His contagious smile and caring personality will always be remembered. Being an achiever and always ready to take on the next challenge, Michael attended the University of Northwestern of Ohio where he attained dual degrees: High Performance Engineering & Alternative Fuels and Business Administration. He was able to complete his four year degree in only three. Everyone that knew Mikey will miss him immensely, but will continue to live on with one of his favorite mottos, “Enjoy life at full speed”.
Michael is survived by his loving parents, Mike and Patti (Shinkle) Healy, his aunts, Pam (Jack) Keeney, Bonnie (David) Beronda, and his grandmother Chris Shinkle. He is preceded by his maternal grandfather Don Shinkle, and paternal grandparents Joyce Healy and Joe Healy.
Funeral services will be on Saturday, February 21, 2015 at 11:00 AM at Voss Chapel with Rev. Andrew Currao officiating.
Friends may call on Friday from 2:00 to 8:00 PM at Voss Chapel and on Saturday from 10:00 AM until the time of the funeral.
Burial will be in Immanuel Lutheran Cemetery with a Voss Dove release.
Memorials may be given to the athletic department at Trinity Lutheran High School.

Patti and Mike, I was thinking of you this week and wondering if you where still in Indiana and what you were up to these days. So I did a search for you, and did not find anything. Then I searched for Mike's name, and this obituary for your son is what I found. Apparently, you were weighing on my heart for a reason. I'm so sorry for what you and Mike are going through. Patty & Mike, Words are empty when it comes to losing a child, especially when that child is as wonderful as Mikey was. Sorry doesn't even convey the depth of our sadness at his passing. I was Mikey's sophomore English teacher at Trinity and I always called him Senator Healy because he was everyone's best friend. He could have easily been a Senator with his personality, his intellect, his looks and his love for people. I loved it when he came back from a weekend of racing. His face just glowed. You both were fantastic parents and you raised a fantastic son. Fortunately, we will all get to see Mikey again because of his faith in our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. He has our days numbered and Mikey lived all of them to His Glory. My prayers are with you as you mourn Mikey's loss for a little while.....until we meet again. Kathy Ellis

So sorry to read of the tragic accident and loss of your son, Michael. At terribly sad times like this, those left behind need comfort and the Bible is the best place to find it. Jesus well knew the Bible statement:" Time and unforeseen occurrence befall them all"[Ecclesiastes 9:11]. He knew that sometimes bad things just happen. The wonderful future resurrection hope is the promise found at John 5:28,29. Revelation 21:3,4 states that death will be no more. and pain will be no more, the former things will have passed away. Our Creator, Jehovah God, by means of his son Jesus, is going to bring about these wonderful changes. I hope as you read these texts in your Bible they will be of comfort to you. Mike and Patti, Words cannot express the deepest, heartfelt, sympathy I feel for the two you of you......Mikey was such a cute, smart, funny, talented and wonderful kid....I am so glad to have seen him grow up a few years while I worked for you at Patti's Hallmark.
