Mr. Michael Robert Sullivan. 63, of Hayden, passed away Friday, May 29, 2020 at his home. He was born in Seymour to the late Robert and Clara (Barnthouse) Sullivan.
He graduated from Jennings County High School, class of 1975. He enjoyed fishing, racing, watching IU basketball and old Westerns. He could most often be found running around Hayden with his buddies. Mike had a great personality and was always happy to help anyone who needed it. He enjoyed spending his time with his grandsons, great-grandson and his great nieces and nephews.
Mike was a tool and die maker by trade and had worked at several local businesses over the years. His most recent was with Quality Mold and Engineering in North Vernon. Prior to that, he worked for SIMCO and Decatur Mold in North Vernon and National Machine in Westport. In his early years, he drove a semi for the old Big Blue Store in Seymour.
Mike will be greatly missed by his daughters, Julie (Shad) James and Beth Sullivan; son, Ryan (Brian Purtlebaugh) Sullivan; grandsons, Logan (Autumn Massie) James, Colton James; great-grandson, Camden James; beloved siblings, Pat (Michele) Sullivan, Penny Sullivan, Susie (John) Barlow, Paul (Cheyenne Gilpin) Sullivan, Robin Sullivan; stepmother, Kaye Sullivan as well as several nieces and nephews and great-nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; maternal grandparents, Harry and Helen Barnthouse; and paternal grandparents, Conrad and Mildred Sullivan.
Memorials may be written to the Hayden Historical Museum, in care of Voss & Sons Funeral Service or directly. Mike enjoyed helping out and volunteering at the old gas station.
All arrangements were entrusted to the care of Voss & Sons Funeral Service. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
