Mr. Mitchell Walter McAdams, 58, of Seymour, passed away peacefully on Friday, August 16, 2019 at his home surrounded by his family.
Mitch was born in Ruston, Louisiana in 1961 to Roy and Daisy (Williamson) McAdams. He married Suzanne Bateman in 1987 in Seymour.
He was a graduate of Seymour High School and an active member of First Baptist Church. He graduated from Ball State University with a B.S. in Business. He worked for Cargill Salt for 27 years, first in plant operations and later in sales.
He is survived by his wife, his son, Mitchell Zakary (Erin) McAdams and his daughter, Taylor Ann McAdams, his brothers, Doug (Kristie), Steve (Diane), and Garry McAdams. He is also survived by his mother and father in-law, Ruth and Bill Bateman, sisters-in-law, Mary Jay (Joe) Rook and Holly (Jim) Bennett, brother-in-law, Troy (Kristin) Bateman and special caregiver, Jan Gibson, as well as several nieces and nephews. He also leaves behind his service dog, Jewels.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister-in-law, Sherry McAdams.
Funeral service will be held on Tuesday, August 20, at 1:00 PM at First Baptist Church with Rev. Bruce Cochran and Rev. Dr. Jeremy Myers officiating. Private graveside service will follow at a later date.
Friends may call at Voss Chapel on Monday, from 4 to 7 PM and on Tuesday at First Baptist Church from noon until the time of the service.
Memorial checks may be written to First Baptist Church, Hospice of Schneck Medical Center, or the Indiana Canine Assistance Network (ICAN).

My sincere condolences to all of Mitch’s family. I had the honor of being Mitch’s sales manager when he first transitioned from ops to sales. We had wonderful conversations while calling on accounts out of the Cincinnati terminal. I learned a lot about living an authentic life from Mitch. RIP Elaine Koyama

I’m so deeply saddened to know of Mitch’s passing. Our prayers are for comfort to the entire family. Mitch was a pure joy to me as a teacher and coach. I’m confident that he taught me more than I did him in wrestling. Mitch will always have a place in my heart.

To the McAdam and Bateman Familes. May god lift you up. Shed a tear today. Tomorrow, he will be smiling at you. Smile back and remember all the great times you had together. He will always be in your mind and heart. Embrace it. It is worth every penny. He would want it that way. Stay strong his legacy is in each and everyone of you. P.S. Mitch remember when you were spiting and not eating to lose weight for your wrestling match. I was eating everything I could to keep the weight on for swimming. Suzanne and family, We want to offer sincere sympathy in the loss of your husband and dad. It was such a pleasure to be reacquainted with you at the hospital, Suzanne.
