Muriel Virginia Carr

Mrs. Muriel Virginia Carr, 91, of Seymour passed away Friday, January 16, 2015 in the Lutheran Community Home, Seymour.

Muriel was born March 10, 1920 in Jennings County, Indiana; the daughter of the late, Frank Louis and Ruth Ann (Carr) Nichter.

On August 24, 1940, at Washington, Indiana, Muriel married Harold Huddleston, who preceded her in death on April 19, 1981. On June 1, 1985, in Seymour, she married John Carr who preceded her in death on June 16, 1997.

Muriel was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Seymour, Indiana. She had retired from H.O. Canfield, Seymour, where she was a gasket maker.

Muriel is survived by two sisters: Gladys Weasner and Esther Wilkes, as well as several nephews and nieces.

In addition to her parents and two husbands, Muriel is also preceded in death by her brothers: Lawrence Nichter, Willard Nichter and Charles Nichter and her sisters: Huldah Butcher, Hazel Butcher, and Ruby Toborg.

Funeral services for Muriel will be conducted, Tuesday, January 20, 2015 at 10:30 AM, in the Voss Chapel, Seymour, with the Rev. Sandy Cooper, officiating; burial will follow in the Riverview Cemetery, Seymour. Family and friends may call at the Voss Funeral Home from 1:00 to 3:00 PM, Monday, January 19, 2015, and one hour before the service at the funeral home on Tuesday.

Memorial donations may be written in Muriel’s memory to the First United Methodist Church in Seymour, Indiana.
