Mrs. Norma Jean Marks, 85, of Seymour, formerly of Martinsville, Indiana passed away Friday, October 23, 2020 at Covered Bridge Health Campus in Seymour. She was born on June 13, 1935 in Kentucky to the late Wilmer Burkhead, Sr. and Maeola Goodlett Burkhead.

Norma was a member of First Baptist Church. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother who enjoyed crafting, painting, and yardwork.

Norma is survived by her son, Greg Marks and his wife Karen; son-in-law, Tim Russell; grandchildren, Karri Tatum and her husband Thomas, Brock Russell, Ryan Marks and his wife Jennifer, Heidi MacTavish and her husband Zach, Benjamin Marks and his wife Summer, and Alex Marks as well as several great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, George Knight Marks; daughter, Jaqueline Dianne “Jackie” Russell; and brother, Wilmer Burkhead Jr.

Friends are welcome to come through Voss & Sons Funeral Service on Monday, October 26 from 11:00 am until 12:00 noon and pay their final respects to Norma. Masks are respectfully required at entry and anytime within the building of Voss & Sons Funeral Service.

A private family graveside service at South Park Cemetery in Martinsville is scheduled at a later time.

Memorials may be written to American Cancer Society, in care of Voss & Sons Funeral Service.

Family George and Jean were my moms neighbors on Dale Street in Martinsville(Peg Gray) and your grandparents were also. Jean always was so outgoing and loving and remember conversing online with her several times after mom passed away.
