Mr. Paul Eugene Nichter, 77, of Seymour, passed away September 18, 2014 at Salem Crossing.
Paul was born in Seymour, IN on December 31, 1936, the son of Bernard G. and Bessie J. (Jack) Nichter.
He married Mary Lou Killion on July 4, 1958. She preceded him in death on January 21, 1986. On December 23, 1989 he married Marjorie Brandenburg White, who survives.
Paul was a member of St. Ambrose Church, Seymour, where he was a Server in his younger years. Paul graduated from Shields High School. He retired after 46 years as a meat cutter for Kroger. He was a veteran of the US Army and served in Germany, he was a member of American Legion Post #89. Paul loved to hunt and fish, was an Eagle Scout and loved to play cards.
Besides his wife, Paul is survived by his stepdaughter: Teresa Lynn White; step son: Christopher Dean White; brothers: Bernard Duane Nichter, William L. (Betty) Nichter, bother in law Noah Bowman: several nieces and nephews and special friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; first wife; and sisters Mary Louise Coombs and Bernardine Bowman
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Ambrose Catholic Church on Monday, September 22, 2014 at 1:00 PM with Father Dan Staublin officiating and Deacon Mike East assisting.
Entombment will be at Riverview Cemetery with full military graveside rites conducted by VFW Post 1925, American Legion Post 89, Disabled Veterans 47, Korean and Vietnam Veterans, all of Seymour.
