Richard Charnes, 82, of Vallonia, Indiana, passed away July 19, 2022, at St. Vincent’s Hospital. On November 8, 1939, he was born in Manton, Michigan to the late, Farwell and Marion (Bell) Charnes. On October 25, 1990, he married the love of his life, Wilma Charnes, and she survives.

Richard attended Cornerstone Community Church and was in the Airforce. He was a great storyteller, loved to fish, and enjoyed computers. Most of all he loved his wife and family.

He is survived by his wife, Wilma Charnes; eight daughters, Richelle Harper, Brenda (Kenneth) Liner, Amelia (Brad) Barton, Wendy Thomas, Carolyn (Tony) Loizzi, Kristy (Bill) Betz, and Candy (Ray) Kelso; two brothers, Steven “Lynn” (Betty) Charnes, and Alvie “Lane” Charnes; thirty one grandchildren, and twenty four great grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Farwell and Marion (Bell) Charnes; one daughter, Debbie Hall; one grandson, Zackary Childers; one great grandson, Hudson Hanson; and four sisters, Jackie Hale, Sandy Colter, Sue Wallen, and Ginger Hall.

Visitation will be held at Cornerstone Community Church on Monday, July 25, 2022, from 12pm until the time of service at 2pm.
