Mrs. Rita Sue Kerkhof, 74 of Seymour, passed away Sunday, November 17, 2019 with her family by her side. She was born in Seymour to the late Kenneth and Velma (Creviston) Rose.
Funeral services will be at Voss & Sons Funeral Service on Thursday, November 21 at 10:00 a.m. with Rev. Dan Defriece officiating. Burial will follow at Riverview Cemetery.
Family and friends may call at Voss & Sons Funeral Service on Wednesday, November 20 from 4 to 8 p.m. and on Thursday after 9 a.m. until time of service.
Rita graduated from Seymour High School class of 1963. She married Mr. Lloyd William Kerkhof on April 10, 1965 at White Creek United Methodist Church. She attended Calvary Baptist Church where she loved working with the children in the daycare ministry. She was a homemaker and stayed at home to raise her girls. She was also a member of the Kids �N Kettles Homemakers Club.
Rita is survived by her husband, Lloyd Kerkhof; children, Barbara (Thomas) Rodenbeck, Lisa (Michael) Cox; grandchildren, Jessica (Joshua) Sandefur, William Rodenbeck, Sara Cox, John Cox,; great-granddaughter, Bella Sandefur; brother, Herschel (Linda) Rose; sisters, Patricia (Steven) Kimbell, Theresa (Raymond) Lucas; brothers-in-law, Norman (Karen) Kerkhof, James VonFange.
She was preceded in death by her parents; brother-in-law, Steven Kimbell; sister-in-law, Marilyn VonFange.
Memorials may be written to Rita S. Kerkhof Scholarship Fund Calvary Daycare, in care of Voss & Sons Funeral Service.
