Mr. Robert D. “Duke” Engelking, 73, of Seymour, passed away on Wednesday, April 11, 2018 at home with his family by his side. He was born in Seymour on October 20, 1944 to the late Harold “Fuzz” and Gladys (Durham) Engelking.
Funeral services will be conducted by Voss & Sons Funeral Service at First Marion Baptist Church on Sunday, April 15 at 5 pm with Rev. Jeff Hood officiating. Burial will follow at First Marion Baptist Church Cemetery.
Family and friends may call at the church on Sunday from 2:30 pm until time of service.
He was a graduate of Crothersville High School, class of 1964. On October 24, 1964, at First Marion Baptist Church, he married Oweeta Umphress, she survives. He retired from H.O. Canfield and Holmes Industries. He was a member of First Marion Baptist Church where served on many boards and as trustee. He was a member of American Baptist Men Association, Coonhunters Club, Beagle Club and Scoutmaster for troop #782. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and camping. Above all, he loved his family and was a great family man.
He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Oweeta Engelking; children, Ronita L. (David) Hounshell and Russell A. (Nikki) Engelking; grandchildren, Anthony, Natashia, Tiffany, Duane, Dallas, Brooke, Brittany and Charlene; and great-grandchildren, Adreanne, Dalton, Maleekah, Mackynzye, Eli and Roslyn.
He is preceded in death by his parents; son, Robert Duane Engelking, Jr.; daughter-in-law, Tina Engelking; and brother, Donald Eugene Engelking.
