Robert Eugene “Gene” Pearson, 94, of Seymour, Indiana, passed away on January 19, 2021 with his family by his side. Gene was a WW II Navy Veteran and owner of Pearson’s Barber Shop in Seymour where he worked for 63 years.
He was born in 1926, in Houston, Indiana, to the late Roy Pearson and Mabel (Mitchell) Pearson.
Gene married the love of his life Irma Constant in Indianapolis, Indiana in 1949.
Gene was a member of Central Christian Church in Seymour. He was also a member of the Masonic Lodge #146 and the American Legion Post 89 in Seymour. Gene loved taking trips with his family to Florida, Hula-Hooping, fishing with his family and friends, spending time in the whirlpool and riding his scooter around the community.
He is survived by his wife Irma, children Robin (Bill) Everhart and Cathy Cherry, grandchildren, Chris Buffo, Craig (Lisa) Buffo, Curt Buffo, T.R. (Brittani) Montgomery, and Blake Everhart; great-grandchildren Zerek Buffo, Skylar Buffo, Dascha Buffo, Dara Buffo, Dahkota (Raina) Amburgey, Cole Benton, Zoie Benton, and great-great-grandchild Ava Amburgey.
Gene was preceded in death by his parents, daughter Debbie Buffo, grandson Benjamin Garrett Everhart, sister Thelma Prewitt, brothers Chandler Pearson, Ray Pearson, J.C. Pearson, Francis Pearson, Lawrence Pearson, Dorance Pearson, and Marvin Pearson.
Friends may call on Friday, January 22, 2021 from 5-7 p.m. at Central Christian Church with a Masonic Service at 7 P.M. to follow.
Funeral Services will be conducted by Voss & Sons Funeral Service at Central Christian Church on Saturday at 1 P.M. Friends may call from 12 until time of service.
Burial will follow at Riverview Cemetery in Seymour with full military graveside rites conducted by VFW Post 1925, American Legion Post 89, Disabled Veterans 47, Korean and Vietnam Veterans, all of Seymour.
All arrangements are entrusted to Voss & Sons Funeral Service in Seymour.
