Robert F. Trueblood

August 2, 1938 - May 19, 2016

Robert F. “Bob” Trueblood, 77 of Seymour, Indiana, passed away Thursday, May 19, 2016, at Schneck Medical Center.

He was born August 2, 1938, in Medora, Indiana, the son of Francis Marion “Chin” and Edith (Thralls) Trueblood.

He married Shirley K. Berry on April 15, 1967, in Connersville, Indiana, and she survives.

Bob was a member of Peace Lutheran Church in Seymour. A 1956 graduate of Medora High School and a veteran of the US Navy, he retired in 2000 from being a cross country truck driver. Bob was a member of the Eagles Aerie #655, VFW Post #1925 and was a Past Master of Jackson Lodge #146 F. & A. M., Seymour, Indiana. He enjoyed riding his motorcycle and was an avid gun enthusiast who was an active member of the United States Practical Shooting Association. It was this love of guns that led him, along with his wife Shirley, to open “Bite the Bullet” Gun Shop which he ran until 2011.

Besides his wife, he is survived by his children, Westley Duane (Becky) Trueblood, Robert C. (Lisa) Trueblood, Lorelei Trueblood, and Michael S. (Elisabeth) Trueblood; 17 grandchildren, ten great grandchildren, his brother, Joe Thomas (Judy) Trueblood, and a sister, Amy Lee (Tom) Kutch.

He was preceded in death by his parents and two sisters.

Funeral service will be held at Voss Chapel on Tuesday, May 24, 2016, at 10:00 am with Pastor Scott Roberts officiating. Burial will follow at Fairview Cemetery with full military graveside rites conducted by VFW Post 1925, American Legion Post 89, Disabled Veterans 47, Korean and Vietnam Veterans, all of Seymour.

Friends and family may gather at Voss Chapel on Monday from 4 to 8 pm and after 9:00 am until time of service on Tuesday. A Masonic Service will be conducted at Voss Chapel on Monday at 7:00 pm.

Memorial checks may be written to Peace Lutheran Church or the South Central Gun Club.

Arrangements were made through Voss & Sons Funeral Service, Seymour, Indiana.

Bad news was a wonderful person when I started driving a truck for Ben Franklin Bob gave me his book of directions for all the stores in New Jersey and told follow these an you will never get lost I still have the book Bob was a true friend and driver Bob's name will carry-on because I name my son after him

First time in bite the bullet late afternoon on a Saturday little small talk I felt like maybe it was close time he had moved few guns to a safe I say you closing ya got somethings to do I SAY I'LL COM BACK ANOTHER TIME what you looking for Bob says Nothing just looking around so I look real quick I buy 2 ruger 2 banna clips and some 45 ammo he ask what kind of 45 I had ruger p90 but I would like a kimber I told him Bob says you got little time to shot some guns I say yes but you got thing to do I'll come back some other time Bob says I know you will but there will people here today it just us an he tells me I like you young man we must make time to shoot some guns an we did made my day and his to so Bob I'll be seeing you friend I hope heaven has a place to shot because when I get there I know where to find youðŸ"«ðŸŽ¯ðŸŽ³ RIP BOB
