Roger Dale Mathis, 55, of Seymour, Indiana, passed away in Bloomington, Indiana.

He was born in 1966 to Ronald “Duke” and Linda (Mix) Mathis in Seymour and they survive.

Roger is also survived by his brothers, Steve Mathis (Patty Black), and Joe Mathis; niece, Diane (Randall) Bland; nephew, Jeremy (Jami) Mathis.

He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Harold and Dorothy Mix and paternal grandparents, Joe and Rose Mathis and sister-in-law Shelley Mathis.

The family will be receiving friends on Friday, May 7, 2021 at Voss & Sons Funeral Service from 5-6:30pm.

Funeral service will be held on Friday, May 7, 2021 at Voss & Sons Funeral Service at 6:30pm with Pastor Rick Prather officiating.

Entombment will follow at a later date.

Memorials may be written to donor’s choice of charity.

Masks are required as well as social distancing within the building. Cards and notes of condolence are most welcome.

All arrangements have been entrusted to Voss & Sons Funeral Service in Seymour.

I knew you for 30 years. I love you more than anything. You said you were in hell. I pray you are at peace. i love you so so much

Roger was one of my best friends. I met him in Bloomington and we are both from Seymour. Roger has taught me a lot and he always was there for me if I needed anything. I will miss my friend greatly. I just wish i could have been there when he needed me.

My son, Nick Tracy, was friends with Roger in Bloomington. He wanted you to know that Roger was always good to him and talked about coming home one day because he missed you both so much, Nick said Roger felt like he had let you down and so he stayed away. My love to you both and prayers.

WE WERE SO SORRY TO HEAR OF ROGERS PASSING,HE WAS A VERY NICE PERSON AND WOULD HELP ANYONE IN NEED.IF HE WAS ABLE.

Sure hate to see Roger has passed. Ironically I was just talking about him Saturday, wondering about him. We are/werecousins, always played together at Aunt Roses when I stayed there in the summer time, when we were younger..We became pen pals for a while when we were probably in our 20s.. How time flies...great memories.. RIP Roger..
