Rollin Eugene Merritt

Mr. Rollin E. “Ron/Butch” Merritt, 69, of Seymour, passed away October 15, 2014 in Columbus, IN.

He was born in Greensburg, IN, August 8, 1945 to Roy Merritt and Willa (Giddings) Knarr.

Ron was married to Barbara Oliphant on December 24, 1965 in Greensburg, IN.

He worked many years as a Deli/Bakery manager for Jay C. Ron was a veteran of the US Air Force and a member of the Eagles, he also loved playing Bingo.

He is survived by his wife Barbara, mother Willa Knarr, children; Roma Hinton, Kim (Bill) Sturgill and Kristina Otero, grandchildren; Nic Merritt, Andrea Merritt, Lorenzo Otero, Bella Hinton, Cory Otero and Josie Hinton, great grandchildren; Raelyn Robbins and Aiden Robbins, brother; William Merritt, step sisters; Dee Dee Cross and Jane Hitchcock.

He was preceded in death by his father, step father John Knarr, sisters; Roxy Merritt and Karen Innis, son; Anthony “Andy” Merritt and a grand daughter Marley Merritt.

Graveside service will be at Riverview Cemetery, Friday October 17, 2014, at 1PM with full military graveside rites conducted by VFW Post 1925, American Legion Post 89, Disabled Veterans 47, Korean and Vietnam Veterans, all of Seymour.

All arrangements have been entrusted to the caring staff of Voss Funeral Service, Monuments and Crematory.
