Mrs. Ruby V. Lee, 85 of Seymour, Indiana, passed away Tuesday, May 3, 2016, at Jennings Healthcare Center.
She was born on May 14, 1930, in London, Kentucky, the daughter of the late Hairom and Polly (Pennington) Vaughn.
She married James E. Lee on October 10, 1946, in Scottsburg, Indiana, and he preceded her September 20, 1998.
Ruby was a member of the Community Christian Church in Seymour. She was a member of the Red Hat Society. She was a homemaker who loved taking care of her family and anyone in her life. She was like a mother to everyone and was always ready with a hug. She cleaned houses for many people over the years including cleaning Voss & Sons Funeral Home for over 30 years. She was a very caring and nurturing person.
She is survived by her sons, Edward Morris Lee and Doyle Michael (Judy) Lee; several grandchildren; several great-grandchildren, brothers, Dillard Whittymore and Bill Whittymore; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, son, James E. Lee, her daughter, Teresa Lowe, and grandchildren, Brandon Lee and Vivian Machen.
Funeral service will be at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, May 7, 2016, at Voss Chapel. Burial will be at Bunker Hill Cemetery at 12:00 p.m.
Friends and family may gather at Voss Chapel on Friday from 5 to 7 p.m. and Saturday after 9:00 a.m. until time of service.
