Shirley Rose (Weidman) Combs

Shirley Rose (Weidman) Combs, 79 of Seymour, Indiana, passed away Wednesday, September 14, 2016, at her home in Seymour with her daughter and puppy, Simone, by her side.

She was born February 4, 1937, in Columbus, Indiana, the daughter of the late Chester and Lula (Dorsett) Weidman.

She married the father of her children, Tommy Larrison, in 1955 and then married Allan Combs on August 6, 1975, in Davidson County, Tennessee, and he survives

Shirley was a member of the 1955 Class of Columbus High School. She loved gardening, walking her dog, antiquing, shopping and playing the piano for and spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

She is survived by her husband, daughters, Debbie (Ricky) Logsdon and Terri (Mike) Schleter; grandchildren: Jackie (Matt) Magill, Lauren (Chris) Younts, Josh (Whitney) Schleter, Ryan Schleter, Jessie (Spencer Powell) Stewart and Amy (Mario Barrientos) Schleter; great-grandchildren: Olivia Magill, Madeline Magill, Uriah Barrientos and Mia Barrientos; sisters: Kathy (John) McCreary and Rita (Leon) Joyce; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

A Memorial service will be held at Voss Chapel on Saturday, September 17, 2016, at 11:00 am with Rev. Steve Dahlquist officiating.

Friends and family may gather at Voss Chapel on Saturday after 10:00 am until time of service.

Memorial checks may be written to Hospice of Schneck Medical Center.

Arrangements were made through Voss & Sons Funeral and Crematory Service, Seymour, Indiana.

It is hard to write just a few things about a remarkable person. Shirley became a dear friend in the short time I knew her. We talked about everything and nothing too. Walking Simone at 2 am with flashlights to guide our way is one of my most cherished memories.
