Mr. Victor Marcott, Sr., 87 of Seymour, passed away at 5:15 a.m., February 7, 2015 at home.
Victor was born July 14, 1927, in Illinois, the son of the late Harry and Genevieve (Scharland) Marcott, Sr.
He was a World War II Army Veteran and retired as a commercial journeyman electrician by trade.
Victor was a loving husband, father and family man. He enjoyed playing euchre, watching Jeff Gordon , Nascar, stock car racing and working cross word puzzles. His children remember their dad as being a great provider, who taught honesty, hard work and good ethics to all of them.
Victor married Betty Lou Wagoner Marcott on March 10, 1948, who passed away, February 1, 1999. They had four children Brenda Blackwood, Bob Marcott, Kathy Maxie and Victor Marcott, Jr., daughter-in-law Brenda Marcott. He has seven grandchildren Dwayne and Jeremy Blackwood, Trish McIntosh, Sonya Blanton, Carie Jo Marcott, Lindsey Zarate and Devann Maxie, six great grandchildren Zak, Morgan and Dylan Blackwood, Cam and Asa Blanton and Jake McIntosh, one step-granddaughter Kiersten Kirk. After Betty Lou’s passing, he married Elizabeth (Toots) Maynard March 18, 2000. He then increased his family with the addition of six wonderful step-children Danny, Lanny and Max Reynolds, Diane Linne, David and Kevin Crockett.
Victor also has one brother living Harry Marcott, and two brothers preceded Bill and Elroy Marcott, one sister Yvonne Davis and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral service will be held on Wednesday at Voss Chapel at 1:00 p.m. with the Rev. Gary Dyer and Rev. Kelly Reid, officiating.
Family and friends may call on Tuesday from 4 – 8 p.m. and on Wednesday after 12 noon until time of service.
Burial will follow at Riverview Cemetery with a Voss Dove release and a full military Graveside rites conducted by the V.F.W. Post 1925, American Legion Post 89, DAV, Korean and Vietnam Veterans all of Seymour.
Memorials may be designated to the American Heart Association, American Diabetes Association or American Caner Fund.
