Wilbur Edwin “Wib” Fenneberg, 78 of Seymour, Indiana, passed away Wednesday, April 13, 2016, at Our Hospice of South Central Indiana in Columbus, Indiana, surrounded by his loving family.
He was born February 17, 1938, in Seymour, Indiana, the son of the late Edwin W. and Anna A. (Wischmeier) Fenneberg.
He was married to Gladys L. Kamman on June 14, 1964, at St. Peters Lutheran Church by Rev. O. L. Hartman.
Wib was a member of Zion Lutheran Church since 1972. He was a Private 1st Class in the US Army where he served in Alaska. He was formerly an employee of Schneider Nursery. He was co-owner of Will’s Tavern in Seymour for over 25 years until his retirement. After he retired, he worked at Happy Herman’s Liquor Store in Brownstown. He played dartball for over 50 years and was known as one of the best. He sponsored softball teams for many years and was an avid IU and LA Dodgers fan. He loved to play with his grandkids as much as possible. He enjoyed gardening, trimming shrubs and trees, and all outdoor landscaping. He was very particular about his work and anyone driving by could recognize “Wib’s yard work”.
He is survived by his wife of over 50 years, their children, Daniel Fenneberg, Timothy Fenneberg, and Jeffrey (Leanna) Fenneberg; two grandchildren, Addison and Kellen Fenneberg, a brother, Alfred (Mildred) Fenneberg, several brothers and sisters-in-law, and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and an infant brother.
Funeral service will be at 10:30 am on Monday, April 18, 2016, at Zion Lutheran Church. Burial will follow at Immanuel Lutheran Cemetery with a Military Flag Ceremony and Taps.
Friends and family may gather at Voss Chapel on Sunday from 2 to 6 pm and at Zion Lutheran Church on Monday after 9:30 am until time of service.
