Albert C. Ahlbrand

Albert C. “Bert” Ahlbrand, 71 of Seymour, passed away Wednesday, October 12, 2016, at Kendrid Hospital – Indianapolis South in Indianapolis, Indiana.

He was born March 5, 1945, in Seymour, Indiana, the son of the late Albert and Alice (Steinwedel) Ahlbrand.

He married Linda L. Russell on July 8, 1967, in Seymour, and she preceded him April 10, 2013.

Bert was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church. He was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles. He worked over 40 years in the automotive repair industry. He loved spending time with his family.

He is survived by his children, Bradley (Brenda) Ahlbrand, Kevin (Sonia) Ahlbrand and Angela Cognata; grandchildren, Mackenzie (Peter) Bohall, Jacob Ahlbrand, Hunter Ahlbrand, Alexander Cognata, Charles Dorsey and Stephanie Dorsey; a sister, Judy (Gerald “Jerry”) McGinley, and a sister-in-law, Shirley Ahlbrand.

He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, a granddaughter, Gabrielle Ahlbrand and three brothers, Philip J., Richard P. and A. James Ahlbrand.

Funeral service will be held at Voss Chapel on Monday October 17, 2016, at 10:00 am with Rev. Ralph Blomenberg officiating. Burial will follow at Immanuel Lutheran Cemetery.

Friends and family may gather at Voss Chapel on Sunday from 2 to 6 pm and Monday after 9 am until time of service.
