Anna Belle Stewart, age 90, of Seymour, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Tuesday, February 28, 2017 at Lutheran Community Home.
She was born on December 20, 1926, in Leland, Mississippi, to Charles Owen Lee and Beulah Sally Terry. She was a member of Seymour Wesleyan Church.
For 25 years she was a Secretary at Seymour Nazarene Church where she taught Sunday School and Bible Study. Anna Belle was involved in Mission Work.
She married her high school sweetheart, Royce, on Baccalaureate Sunday in 1945.They were blessed with 66 years of happiness before he passed away in 2011. She was a 1945 Graduate of Seymour High School. After inspiring and encouraging her children to higher education degrees, she completed her own degree from IUPUI. She was a member of National Society, Daughters of the American Revolution-General Charles Scott Chapter, Poetry Society of Indiana, Christian Women’s Club, and Friends of the Seymour Public Library. She was a published poet.
She is survived by a daughter, Beverly Ann (Clay) McWilliams, three sons, Royce Jr. (Carolyn) Stewart, Dr. John R. (Darlene) Stewart, and Robert Lee Stewart,and a sister Betty Freshour, also surviving are 9 grandchildren and13 great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, sisters, Vay Lee Pelezo, Mary Frances Lee, brothers, Ray C. Lee, Robert L. Lee, Joseph Cecil Lee, Hubert L. Lee, Jack T. Lee, James T. Lee, John Wiley Lee, Charles O. Lee Jr, and grandchild, David Andrew Stewart.
Graveside services will be held at Cana Methodist Cemetery on Friday, March 3, at 9:30 AM followed by a Celebration of Life Service at the Lutheran Community Home at 11:00 AM with the Reverend Rob Freshour officiating.
Family and friend may call on Thursday from 4 to 6 PM at Voss Chapel.
