Benjamin “Ben” Joseph Hart, 47, of Seymour passed away on Tuesday, March 7, 2023, at his home.  He was born on July 27, 1975, in Seymour, the son of George W. and Carol Godsey Hart.

Ben is survived by his three children, Ethan, Noah, and Aiden Hart and their mother Amy of Seymour; mother, Carol Hart of Seymour; one sister, Christie (RJ) Sturgeon of Columbus; one niece Cora Sturgeon and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins.  He was preceded in death by his father, George W. Hart; his maternal grandparents, Willie and Chiquitha (Hayes) Godsey and paternal grandparents Arthur and Rose (Stogdill) Hart; two aunts, Kim Hart Cockerham and Sherry Godsey Slater.

Ben was a graduate of Seymour High School.  Ben made his confession of faith and was baptized at Central Christian Church where he was a member.  He enjoyed Indiana University Basketball, and he loved traveling down to Tennessee and spending time in the Smokey Mountains.   Most of all though Ben enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his boys whom he loved dearly.

A funeral service will be held on Saturday March 11, 2023, at 11 a.m. at Voss and Son’s Funeral Home in Seymour.  Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. until the time of services at 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home.  Inurnment will take place at a later date in Riverview Cemetery in Seymour.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the charity of the donor’s choice.
