Carrie Imogene Scott Fosbrink, 91 of Seymour, Indiana, passed away Tuesday, July 14, 2015, at home surrounded by her family.
Imogene was born May 4, 1924, at Ratcliff Grove, the daughter of the late Cecil and Lena Smallwood Scott. She married Wayne E. Fosbrink on January 31, 1942, in Brownstown, Indiana. He passed away September 19, 2000.
She was a member of Redeemer Lutheran Church, the Redeemer Lutheran Church Ladies Guild and the LWML. She attended grade school at Ratcliff Grove then went to Brownstown High School. Imogene owned and operated Redding Road Beauty Shop for ten years then went to work at JC Penney from 1968 until her retirement in 1987. She enjoyed crocheting and loved spending time in her garden. Imogene was lucky enough to be married to the love of her life for over 58 years. She and her husband were members of ABATE of Indiana and the Golden Oldies Motorcycle Club.
She is survived by her daughters, Dorothy (James) Miller, Judy Hazard, and Diana (Daryl) Gressel; eight grandchildren, John Pettay, Ruth Southerland, Jennifer Pettay, Michelle Randall, Duane Ritz, Gary Gressel, Brian Gressel, and Tammy Lucas; two step-grandchildren, James Miller Jr., and Tammy Meek; twenty-one great-grandchildren, fourteen great-great-grandchildren, and a sister-in-law, Ruby Fosbrink.
Imogene was preceded by her husband, her parents, a granddaughter, a step-grandson, a great-great-granddaughter, five brothers, James, JC, Jesse, Eugene, and Jack Scott; and two sisters, Gertrude Reedy and Estella Miller.
Funeral service will be at Voss Chapel Saturday, July 18, 2015, at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Joe Barlau officiating. Burial will follow at Riverview Cemetery
Friends and family may call at Voss Chapel Friday from 5 to 8 p.m. and Saturday after 10:00 a.m. until time of service.
