Charles Patrick “Pat” Knott

June 22, 1929 - April 28, 2016

Charles Patrick “Pat” Knott, 86 of Seymour, Indiana, passed away Thursday, April 28, 2016, under the caring staff of Covered Bridge Health Campus.

He was born June 22, 1929, in Rockford, Indiana, the son of the late John and Mayme (Lebline) Knott.

He married Esther L. (Crouch) on January 20, 1962 in Danville, Illinois, and she preceded him in death on September 20, 1999.

Pat was a member of St. Ambrose Catholic Church. He was also a member of the Knights of Columbus and the Fraternal Order of Eagles. He worked at Force Construction Company for over 30 years. Late in his career, he was a Customer Service Representative.

He is survived by his brother, Gene Knott, nephews, Michael (Julie) Knott, John Andrew (Denise) Knott, and Steve (Martha) Knott; great-nephews, Christopher (Monica) Knott and Benjamin (Leslie) Knott; great-nieces, Sarah Knott, Lisa Knott and Ariadne Knott.

He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, brothers, Lawrence and Harold Knott; and sisters, Martha Knott, Katherine Knott, Mary Waggoner, and Josephine M. Knott.

Funeral Mass will be at 10:00 a.m., on Monday, May 2, 2016, at St. Ambrose Catholic Church. Burial will follow at Riverview Cemetery.

Friends and family may gather at Voss Chapel on Sunday from 3 to 6 p.m. and at St. Ambrose Catholic Church Monday after 9:45 a.m. until time of Mass.

Memorial checks may be written to Mass of St. Ambrose Catholic Church, St. Ambrose Catholic School or charity of choice.

Pat was really fun to argue with. He could keep you on your toes thinking about a counter arguement. He loved his family deeply especially Esther. She was the light of his life. When she died his light was gone. He did his best to help his sisters, Katie & Jo and they in turn took care of him until their deaths. He and his brother Gene were close but as brothers sometimes do, did not see eye to eye on every issue. Gene took wonderful care of Pat, making sure he was safe, and well cared for. Pat was a cousin to my Mom, Beverly (Knott) Emhuff), and I am Beverly's oldest daughter, Betsy. I would like to offer our condolences to Gene and family. We are so very, very sorry for your loss.
