Dan Lewis Jr. of Seymour age 66, passed away at his home on April 16, 2015. He was born on May 16, 1948 in Manchester, KY to Dan Lewis Sr. and Elsie (Parker) Lewis. On June 26, 1970 at the Seymour First Baptist Church, he married Janet Hall. Dan was a member of the US Army, and served his country with pride. Upon his return from service he worked in maintenance at Arvins for 33 years. Once he retired, he was able to spend his time working in his garden which he enjoyed. Tending the garden and working with his hands was always a skill that his friends and family will remember him by. Much the same, he loved to fish and spend time outdoors. Most dear to him was the time he spent with his grandchildren, Kirstyn, Taylor, and Brittany. Dan attended First Baptist Church.
He is survived by his wife, two children Rob (Kristye) Lewis and Trish Lett, his grandchildren Kirstyn and Taylor Lewis and Brittany Lett. Also, his brothers Kenny Lewis and Jerry Lewis, his sisters Geneva Lewis, Burnetta Trotter, Charlotte Keefer, Jean Post, Jeanetta Montgomery, and Alma Boknecht.
Dan is preceded by his parents, one brother Ed Lewis, 2 sisters Louise Hensley and Cecelia Steele, and one granddaughter Brandy Lett.
Funeral service will be held at Voss Chapel on Saturday at 1:30 PM with the Rev. Larry Tingle officiating.
Family and friends may call at Voss Funeral Service, Voss Chapel at 316 N. Chestnut St. on Saturday after 10 AM until the time of service.
Burial will follow at Riverview Cemetery with full military graveside rites being conducted by VFW, American Legion, Korean and Vietnam Veterans all of Seymour.
Family asks that memorials be designated to Reins to Recovery.
