Devon Earl Fields “Wrench”, 32 of Columbus, Indiana passed away on Monday, March 9, 2015 at Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis.
Devon was born in Seymour, Indiana on October 8, 1982, the son of Rhea Dawn (DeWeese) Palmer and Ronnie Lynn Fields.
He graduated from Seymour High School in 2001 and attended Harrison College – Indianapolis campus, obtaining an Associates Degree in Business Organization Management.
Devon then went to work at Space Guard where he represented them in the Sales and Customer Service Departments. He was a top of the line “DAD” that loved his children, family, friends and his dog “Chewie”. He was known to many as “Wrench” as he always had a wrench in hand, willing to work on a bike, or work on old cars and trucks.
He enjoyed street bike motorcycles, as he was a member and treasurer of the Dead Saints Motorcycle Club. He was a den leader for the Columbus Cub Scouts Pack 509. Devon had an interest in fire arms and was a major enthusiast of Star Wars, which he passed on down to his children.
He married the love of his life, Stephanie Nicole Doty on May 29, 2004.
Devon is survived by his wife, Stephanie, two children, Annabelle Claire Fields and Harrison Montgomery Fields, Mother and step father, Rhea Dawn (Joseph) Palmer, father, Ronnie Fields, father and mother in law, Randy and Kim Medaris, brother, Shannon Ray O’Neal, brother in law, Lucas A. Doty, sister in law, Ariel A. Bower, and a maternal grandmother, Louise DeWeese.
A celebration will be held on Saturday at 2:00 pm at Voss Chapel, with Rev. Randy Blackburn, officiating the life of Devon.
Family and friends may call at Voss Chapel on Friday from 4 to 8 p.m. and after 1 p.m. until time of service on Saturday.
Family asks that memorials be designated to Stephanie Fields, for the children’s future.
