Mr. Donald Alvin Noirot, 76 of Freetown, Indiana, passed away Wednesday, March 2, 2016, surrounded by his loving family.
Don was born February 24, 1940, in Ft. Wayne, Indiana, the son of the late Forrest and Verna (Hart) Noirot.
After graduating from high school, he joined the United States Army during the Vietnam War where he served as a cook. After the war, he worked at General Tire and Kelly Box both of Ft Wayne. Cooking was his passion so he left the factory life and went to the kitchen where he retired after many years.
On June 30, 2007, he married Barbara King Williams at the Surprise Christian Church.
He is survived by his wife, Barb, son, Kevin Noirot, grandson, Eddie Burton, step children: Bill & Rose King, Charlie & Sara Deckard, Mike & Sandy Deckard, Connie & Randy Hall, Bobby & Shelly Deckard, and Jim & Denise Isley; several step grand and step great-grandchildren, one aunt, Georgie Hart, and a nephew, Ralph Louis Noirot.
Don was preceded in death by his parents, brother, Ralph Noirot, and step son, David Deckard.
Funeral service will be at Voss Chapel on Friday, March 4, 2016, at 1:00 p.m. Burial will follow at Cummins Cemetery with full military graveside rites conducted by VFW Post 1925, American Legion Post 89, Disabled Veterans 47, Korean and Vietnam Veterans, all of Seymour.
Friends and family may gather at Voss Chapel on Friday after 10: 00 a.m. until time of service.
