Donald Murray, 67 of Seymour, Indiana, passed away Wednesday, February 10, 2016, at Schneck Medical Center.
He was born January 1, 1949, in Shelby County, Indiana, the son of the late John Edward and Callie (McGaha) Murray.
He married Saundra “Sandy” Henderson on May 4, 1969, at Wray’s Christian Church in Clearspring, Indiana, and she survives.
He was a member and Elder of Seymour Christian Church in charge of the Education Department and also a Gideon. He was retired from Cummins, owned Royale Auto Sales, was an IHSAA Basketball Official, and a licensed auctioneer. He loved to play softball including playing for the Indiana Legends where they won several championships. He was a collector of small model trains and enjoyed and collected classic cars. He loved spending time with his family especially his grandchildren.
He is survived by his wife, daughter, Teresa (Daniel) Boyd, son, Aaron Murray, grandchildren, Chelsea Abner, Cassidy Abner, and Colton Boyd; brothers, Mark (Crystal- Jill) Murray, Robert (Paula) Hardin, Steve Johnson and Phillip Johnson, sister, Paula Johnson and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers: John Edward Murray Jr. and Michael L. “Myke” Murray; a sister, Mary Sue Knight, and two infant nieces and a nephew.
A Celebration of Life service will be at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, February 16, 2016, at Seymour Christian Church. Burial will follow at Riverview Cemetery.
Friends and family may gather at Seymour Christian Church Monday from 4-8 p.m. and after 9:00 a.m. until time of service.
