Mrs. Donna Jean Aldridge Pulliam, 84 of Seymour and resident of the Covered Bridge Health Campus for the past three years, passed away, Sunday morning, July 20, 2014 in the Schneck Medical Center, Seymour.
Born March 4, 1930 at Shelbyville, Indiana, Donna was the daughter of Daily and Jannette (Rains) Aldridge. On August 27, 1949 at Shelbyville, she married Thomas E. Pulliam, Jr., who preceded her in death in 1992.
She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Seymour, where she was active in the Rebecca Sunday School Class. Donna was a 1949 graduate of Clifford High School. Locally she had been employed as manager with the Chestnut Motor Inn for 24 years. In her pass-time, Donna enjoyed cross-stitching, playing bingo and watching the classic movies of old Hollywood. In her time as a resident of Covered Bridge, she developed a liking for marker coloring, especially on velveteen.
Donna is survived by her daughter: Carol Jean Matthews; three brothers: Robert, Richard, and Ronald Aldridge; two sisters: Ethel Jeffries and Kathy Smith; six grandchildren, thirteen great grandchildren and six great great grandchildren.
In addition to her parents and husband, Donna was preceded in death by a grand daughter: Terrie Jahn; a grandson: Danny Matthews; a son-in-law: Roy Matthews; two brothers: Donald Rains Harbert and Tommy Joe Aldridge; two sisters: Polly Ann Spaulding and Mary Calahese.
Funeral services for Donna, will be conducted in the Voss Chapel at 10:00 AM on Thursday July, 24, 2014, with The Rev. Larry Tingle officiating, burial will follow in the Riverview Cemetery, Seymour.
Family and friends may call at the Voss Chapel on Wednesday, July 23, 2014 from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. and on Thursday after 9:00 AM until time of service at the Voss Chapel.
