Doris E. Loper, age 100, passed away on Wednesday, January 10, 2024, at The Lutheran Community Home in Seymour.
Doris was born on September 16, 1923, in Milwaukee, WI to the late Richard and Olga (Scharbach) Bellack. On January 1, 1948, Doris married the love of her life, William E. Loper, who precedes her in death. Doris retired from Beatty Insurance as a bookkeeper after working for the company for over 24 years.
Survivors include her children, Thomas (Betty) Loper, of Ellettsville, Jerry (Debra) Loper, of Norman and Nancy Edmonds of Hanover; eight grandchildren, Amanda Loper of Indianapolis, Misty Wilson of Cortland, Stephanie Maschino of Seymour, Robert W. (Amber) Edmonds of Seymour, Crystal Loper of Bloomington, Lora (Erik) Harlow of Lafayette, John (Amy) McCanlis of North Vernon, and Ginger (Don) Hale of Ellettsville; 21 great-grandchildren, 11 great great-grandchildren; special niece, Susie Bode, of Seymour; and special nephew, Robert Loper of San Diego, CA.
Doris was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, three brothers, Robert Bellack, Warren Bellack and Harold Bellack; son-in-law, Robert “Rock” Edmonds, and grandson-in-law, Andy Maschino.
Funeral services for Doris will be held on Monday, January 15 at 1:00PM at Voss and Sons Funeral Services, 316 N. Chestnut Street, Seymour. The family will receive guests at the funeral home on Monday from 11:00AM until the time of service. Burial will immediately follow at Riverview Cemetery.
Memorial contributions can be in Doris Loper’s memory to The Schneck Foundation: Cancer Patient Support Fund in the name of Doris and Bill Loper or Schneck Hospice Care.
