Doris Jean Johnson Huff, 82 of Seymour, Indiana, passed away Monday, October 26, 2015, at IU Methodist Hospital.
She was born January 31, 1933, in Franklin County, Kentucky, the daughter of the late Charles R. Johnson, Sr., and Minnie Brewer Johnson.
She married her high school sweetheart, James Theodore Huff, Sr., on May 3, 1952, at St. Ambrose Catholic Church, and he survives.
Doris was a member of St. Ambrose Catholic Church. She was a member of the 1951 graduating class of Shields High School. She worked at Arvins for ten years and at Seymour Electronics. She was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the Fraternal Order of the Moose, Ladies Auxiliary of the Fraternal Order of Eagles and a bowling league for several years. She enjoyed sewing, loved being around her family and treasured her two dogs.
She is survived by her husband, Jim Huff, her children, James Theodore “Ted” (Sue) Huff, Jr., Charles William “Chuck” (Susan) Huff, Rebecca Jorene “Becky” (Gene) Scott; grandchildren, Amy Michelle (Leon) Hawkins, Staci Rachelle (Joe) Boyle, Matthew (significant other Kim Mills) Huff, Eligha “Ligie” (Rachel) Whipker, Cody (Kayla) Huff, Sarah (Theodore Jr.) Stucker, and Bryan (fiancé Ashley Garlick) Whipker; great-grandchildren, Zack Hawkins, Ethan Hawkins, Grace Hawkins, Hunter Akemon, Nolan Huff, Adalyn Huff, Taylor Burdine, and Miranda Burdine; and several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.
She is preceded in death by her parents, a great-granddaughter, Savannah Akemon, her sister, Pauline Hardy, and her brothers, Paul, Kenneth and Charles Johnson, Jr.
Funeral service will be at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, October 29, 2015, at Voss Chapel with Pastor Theodore Stucker, Jr., officiating. Burial will follow at Riverview Cemetery.
Friends and family may call at Voss Chapel Wednesday from 4-8 p.m. and Thursday after 12:00 p.m. until time of service.
