Eugene was a wonderful man and a very special person in my life. In the early 1980s Gene, as I called him, saw something in me. He encouraged me to consider full-time Christian vocational ministry. God used his encouragement to call me into the ministry. Gene befriended me and offered guidance as I began pursuing my theological education. I have and always will remember he and Margaret with fond, appreciative memories.

Gene, your dry wit and humor, and unique perspective on a variety of subjects made me look forward to seeing you when I worked at the Seymour clinic. I'm relieved that you no longer feel earthly pain, but I will forever miss your wisdom and kind words. You were, and still are, a blessing to all that knew you. May you now only know peace on your journey in God's love
