Edward Louis Speckner

May 25, 1924 - July 12, 2014

Edward Louis Speckner (May-25-1924-Jul-12-2014), 90, of Seymour, IN, passed away on Saturday, Jul-12-2014 in Bloomington, IN. He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Jo (Hirtzel) Speckner.

After serving overseas in the Army during WWII, Edward returned to Seymour to work with his father Andrew Speckner and uncle Michael Speckner, at Speckner Tire Service. He spent the rest of his working career at Cummins Engine, Columbus, IN. After retiring, Edward and Mary Jo enjoyed many winters in Florida.

Edward is survived by four children: Michael (Maryse) Speckner, Knoxville, TN; Jodie (Rodney) Friend, Bloomington, IN; Sue (Warren) Koop, Greenwood, IN and Julie Kay (Kenny) Klein, Boonville, IN. Ed and Mary Jo have seven grandchildren: Eric and Vincent Speckner, Andy, Jon and Abby Koop, and Kyler and Kelsi Klein; five great-grandsons: Azi, Xander, Jacob and Noah Koop and Eli Speckner, and a great-granddaughter on the way.

Friends may call at Voss Chapel on Tuesday, July 15, from 4:00-7:00 pm, and at St. Ambrose Catholic Church on Wednesday, July 16, 9:00 am, with funeral Mass to follow at 10:00 am. Burial will be at Riverview Cemetery.
