Mrs. Elizabeth Ann “Betty” Woodard, 87, of Seymour, passed away Monday, March 3, 2014, at the Covered Bridge Health Care Campus.
Betty was born in Indianapolis, IN, on July 16, 1926, the daughter of the late Roy and Mabel (Foster) Lucas.
On June 24, 1945, she married Glen Woodard in Jeffersonville, IN.
Betty and her husband started Best Way, Inc., in 1957 and Betty continued to operate the business successfully after Glen’s death in 1985. A knowledgeable business woman, she was also very talented and enjoyed helping others whenever she had the opportunity. She was a Girl Scout leader for many years and also kept herself busy with gardening, cooking, and-most of all-shopping, three of her favorite hobbies.
She is survived by her daughter Shirley (Larry) Carmony; three grandchildren Aimee (Tim) Perry, Kelly (Talmadge) Reasoner, and Lindsey Carmony; six great grandchildren Alan, Alyssa and Bret Perry, Payton, Luke and Eli Reasoner; brothers Bill Lucas and Art (Barb) Lucas; sisters Gene McMurray and Mary Ellen (Leonard) Bledsoe.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, three infant children (Robert Glen Woodard, Ceila Kay Woodard and Brenda Marie Woodard), as well as by her brother Robert Francis Lucas.
Funeral service will be Friday at Voss Chapel at 1:30 p.m. with Rev. Jon Pearce officiating.
Burial will follow at the Uniontown Cemetery.
Family and friends may call at Voss Chapel on Thursday from 4 to 8 p.m. and on Friday after 12:30 p.m. until time of service.
