Elizabeth J. “E.E.” Fleetwood, 73, of New Albany, Indiana, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family Wednesday, February 28, 2024.
Elizabeth was born in Seymour, Indiana, to the late Lawrence and Rosemary (Klein) Moore. After graduating high school, she had a successful career as a buyer for Rohm & Haas (now Dow Chemical) while raising her three children. Remembered as a strong woman and a fighter, she loved all kinds of music, and one of her favorite tunes was “I Will Survive” by Gloria Gaynor. Her favorite musical genres included dance party and juke box music. She retired to The Villages, Florida, where she said “every day’s a vacation” as she enjoyed golfing, dancing, and socializing with her many friends. Dinner, usually including her favorite white Zinfandel, and dancing occupied most of her days. Her Florida friends will fondly remember her as the life of the party.
Left behind to cherish her memory are her children, Shannon Haste, Matthew (Melissa) Fleetwood, and Nathan Fleetwood; grandchildren, Ashley Haste, Allison Fleetwood, and Kai Fleetwood; sisters, Julia Schroer, Susie Moore, Marilyn Hawn, and Deanie Moore; and sister-in-law, Dena Moore.
She is preceded in death by her mother and father, listed above; brothers, John Moore and Philip Moore; and brother-in-law, Mike Schroer.
Funeral services for Elizabeth will be held on Saturday, March 2, 2024, at 1:00 p.m. at Voss and Sons Funeral Service, 316 N. Chestnut Street, Seymour. Deacon Larry French will officiate. Visitation will be held Saturday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service. Burial will immediately follow at Riverview Cemetery.
