Ellen M. (Eddy) Spaulding

Mrs. Ellen M. (Eddy) Spaulding, 79 of Seymour, passed away at home on Thursday, September 1, 2016, with her family by her side.

Ellen was born in Seymour on September 19, 1936, the daughter of the late Adolph and Laura Hoevener Koop.

She was a loving wife, a homemaker and a loving mother and grandmother. She enjoyed visiting with her family and friends and loved to volunteer and help others. She was a member of Reddington Christian Church, Cummins Retiree Club and the Auxiliary of Gideon’s International.

She married Donald L. Eddy on August 4, 1957, in Seymour; he passed away December 16, 1991. She then married Giles Spaulding on August 19, 1995, and spent twenty-one wonderful years together.

Ellen is survived by her husband, Giles; two children: Dwight (Karla) Eddy and Stephanie (Craig) Prewitt,
Grandchildren: Allisha (Prewitt) Daraswad (fiancé, Levi Nehrt), Nathan Eddy, Justin Prewitt, Nicholaus (Mackenzie) Eddy and Alex (Abby) Eddy; great grandchildren: Thai Daraswad, Lynnley Daraswad, Kaylen Eddy, and Conrad Eddy; sister: Norma Kriete; stepson: Darren (Kim) Spaulding; step-grandchildren: Darrick (Samantha) Spaulding and Craig (Holly) Spaulding; step-great-grandchildren: Taylor, Payson and Jasper Spaulding; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her first husband, Donald, and her parents, Ellen is preceded in death by her brothers: Louis Koop, Marvin Koop, Harold Koop, and William Koop; and a sister, Lorna Kriete.

Funeral service honoring Mrs. Spaulding will be Saturday, September 3, at 10:00 a.m. at Voss Chapel with the Reverend Scott Brown and Reverend Bill Weaver, officiating. Burial will follow at Riverview Cemetery.

Family and friends may gather at Voss and Sons Funeral Service on Friday from 4 to 8 p.m. and on Saturday after 9 am until time of service.

Memorials may be written to the Hospice of Schneck Medical Center, Reddington Christian Church or Gideon’s International.
