Evelyn Thias

Mrs. Evelyn Thias, 84, of Seymour, passed away August 20, 2014 at Covered Bridge Health Campus in Seymour.

Evelyn was born on September 13, 1929 in Jackson County, IN, she was the daughter of the late Elizabeth Schrier and William Steltenpohl.

On April 16, 1950, at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Seymour, IN, she married Robert E. Thias who preceded her in death on June 9, 1994.
Evelyn was a member of Immanuel Lutheran church where she volunteered. She enjoyed cooking, canning and spending time with her family.

She is survived by her children: Michael E. (Teresa) Thias and Joy (Tony) Rumph; two grandchildren: Jason Thias and Brandy Gibbons and three great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, brothers: Melvin, Maurice, Mearl and Luther Steltonpohl; sisters: Leota Steltenpohl, Vera Stigdon, Bernetta Dickmeyer, Beulah Stuckwish and Verna Thias.

Funeral services will be held at Immanuel Lutheran Church on Sunday August 24, 2014 at 3:00 PM with Rev. Ralph Blomenberg, Rev. Philip Bloch, Rev. James Rodriguez and Vicar Dan Merz officiating.

Burial will be at Immanuel Lutheran Cemetery.

Friends may call at Immanuel Lutheran Church on Sunday August 24, 2014 from 1:00 PM until time of service.

Memorials may be written to Immanuel Lutheran Church or Trinity Lutheran High School.
