Francis Foist

Mr. Francis Marion “Cookie” Foist, 93, of Seymour passed away Saturday, June 6, 2015, at Kindred Transitional Care in Columbus, Indiana.

He was born March 1, 1922, in Jennings County, Indiana, he was the son of Guy Foist and Lucy (Sharp) Foist.

On August 15, 1940, in Butlerville, Indiana, he married Lavonia E. (Manuel) Foist who preceded him in death February 13, 2012.

He was an iron worker for Repp and Mundt in Columbus, Indiana, for over 25 years. He loved spending time in the outdoors gardening, fishing and hunting. He took a lot of pride in the appearance of his lawn and his garden.

He is survived by his children, Jack (Patty) Foist, Marlin (Candace) Foist, and Carleen (Jim) Findley; 10 grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren, and 5 great great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, son, Michael Foist and 2 sisters Mary Helen Wolfinger and Mildred Lafferty.

Funeral services will be held at Voss Chapel on Wednesday, June 10, 2015, at 1:00 pm with Rev. Tom Judd officiating.

Burial will take place at Riverview Cemetery

Friends may call at Voss Chapel Wednesday, after 11:00 am until time of service.
