Harry Thomas Montel 85, passed away Friday, June 13, 2014 in Greenwood, Indiana.
He was born February 22, 1929 in Vallonia, Indiana to Harry Henry Montel and Pearl Marchand Montel.
Harry married Patricia June Judkins on January 1, 1950 at the First Baptist Church, Seymour, Indiana.
He was a graduate of Seymour High School and lettered eight times in two different sports. Harry was a Korean War veteran, as an Army Corporal serving from December 1951 through December 1953 as a member of the occupation forces in Germany. Employed by Detroit Diesel Allison General Motors for thirty years. Resident of Sarasota, Florida since 1985.
Survived by his wife, Patricia, of Sarasota, Florida, children, Stephen Montel (Lesley) and James Montel (Geri). Harry had three grandchildren, Courtney Montel, M. Megan Montel Rule, and Jordan Montel Assmann; five great grandchildren and nephew Robert Rowe. .
He was preceded in death by his parents, his sister Okla Smith and father and mother -in-law: Waldo and Lena Judkins.
Harry attended Lakeside Lutheran Church, Venice, Florida. Pastor Ralph Blomenburg will conduct funeral services on Wednesday June 18, 2014 at 12:00 noon at Voss Funeral Service with grave side services immediately following at Riverview Cemetery Seymour Indiana with a military flag presentation.
Friends may call at Voss Funeral Home on Wednesday June 18, 2014 from 10:00 AM until the time of service.
In lieu of flowers, the family request memorial contributions be made to American Parkinson’s Association.
