Henry Coleman McDaniel

Mr. Henry Coleman McDaniel, 85, of Seymour, passed away Tuesday July 8, 2014 at his home.

Born October 11, 1928, in Knott Co, KY, he was the son of William “Billie” and Dora McDaniel.

On September 1, 1979, at the Freetown Church of Christ, he married Martha Eldridge.

Henry was a graduate of Clearspring High School and then went on to serve his country in the U.S. Navy. He had been a toolmaker for Cummins where he retired from in 1990 after 36 ½ years. He enjoyed woodworking, farming and mowing grass. One of his many hobbies was genealogy.

He is survived by his wife, step-children: Jody (Michael) FitzGibbon and Peggy (Rex) Plessinger; 3 grandchildren; 3 great grandchildren; a niece Evadean Davidson; 1 great niece and 3 great nephews.

He was preceded in death by parents and brothers: Arnold and General McDaniel.

Funeral services will be held at Voss Chapel on Saturday July 12, 2014 at 3:00 PM with Rev. Larry Tedrow officiating.

Burial will be at Houston Cemetery, Houston, IN with full military graveside rites conducted by VFW Post 1925, American Legion Post 89, Disabled Veterans 47, Korean and Vietnam Veterans, all of Seymour.

Friends may call at Voss Chapel on Saturday after 1:00 PM until the time of service.
