Jim Vogel, 41, of Seymour passed away on Sunday, April 2, 2023, at his home in Seymour.  He was born on June 4, 1981, in Seymour, the son of John and Joyce Stout Vogel.

Jim is survived by his mother, Joyce Vogel of Seymour; his two dogs, Izzy the boxer and Obi the beagle; one brother, Matthew Vogel of Indianapolis and Jennifer Suzanne Vogel of Louisville, KY; and Maternal Grandmother Patricia Stout.  He is also survived by Maternal Uncles, Jim (Pat) Stout, Otis (Rotha) Stout, Brian (Zee) Stout, Todd (Michelle) Stout, and Jeremy (Charity) Stout; Paternal Uncle Nick (Julie) Vogel and numerous cousins and friends.

He was preceded in death by his father John Vogel; Maternal Grandfather, Junior Stout; Paternal Grandparents, Jane and John Vogel; Maternal Uncle, Bob Stout; and Paternal Uncles, David, Steve, and Pat Vogel.

Jim was employed at Valle Vista Hospital in Greenwood where he was the director of human resources.  He was a 1999 graduate of Seymour High School.  After graduating from Seymour High School he graduated with honors from Indiana University – Purdue University at Columbus in 2012 where he earned his bachelor’s degree in communications.  Throughout his ten years as a human resource professional Jim had experience in onboarding, coaching and counseling employees throughout their employment  and brought a positive and caring attitude to help each employee find success in their respective roles.

In Jim’s free time he enjoyed Dungeon’s & Dragons, playing Xbox, collecting Legos and old vinyl records.  He also enjoyed watching the Indy Eleven soccer team.  Most of all though Jim loved spending time with his two dogs Izzy and Obi.

A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, April 11, 2023, at 11 a.m. at the Voss and Son’s Funeral Home in Seymour.  Visitation will be held on Monday, April 10, 2023, from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.  Private burial will take place at a later date at Riverview Cemetery.
