Janet Arlene Miller, 68, passed away Tuesday, January 2, 2024 at her residence. She was a lifelong resident of Seymour.
She was born October 29, 1955 in Seymour, IN to Patrick Elmer Cartwright and Martha Virginia Lind Cartwright. She was a 1974 graduate of Seymour High School, and then earned her Bachelors degree at the Indiana University School of Nursing.
Arlene married Roger Dale Miller on September 10, 1982 in Seymour, and he preceded her in death on August 16, 2014. She is survived by her brother, Alan (Irina) Cartwright; two step sons, Christopher M. Miller and Jason K. (Jennifer) Miller; step daughter, Rachelle (Robert) Barkes; nieces, Julia Cartwright and Alina (Anton) Lutsiv; special friend, Timothy Rouse; and several step grandchildren.
Over her career, she was an emergency room nurse at North Vernon Hospital and Schneck Hospital. She also had taught nursing at IUPUI.
She was a member of the International Order of the Rainbow Girls in Seymour.
Visitation will take place from 11-1PM, Tuesday, January 9, at Voss & Sons Funeral and Cremation Services, 316 N. Chestnut Street, Seymour. Rev. Dan DeFriece will officiate a funeral service to follow at 1PM at the funeral home. She will be laid to rest at White River Valley Cemetery in Medora.
