Janet E. Otte, 83, of Seymour passed away on October 19, 2023 at her home. Janet was born on September 11, 1940, in Van Wert, Pennsylvania to Walter Leroy and Helen Marie (Criley) Rauch. She was a home maker but had also worked for Jackson Park Convalescent Center for 20 years, Ryan’s Steakhouse and Day’s Family Pizza. She was a member of the American Legion. On July 11, 1975, she married Danny L.J. Otte, and he survives.
In addition to her husband, Janet is survived by brothers and sisters: Carl Alvin (Joan) Rauch, David Gerald Rauch, Ruby Arlene (Harold) Adair and Rita Ann (Harold, Jr.) Dressler. Janet was preceded in death by her parents, brothers and sisters: Walter Ralph Rauch, Jr., Gary Cecil Rauch, Bertha Armenta Foltz, Margaret Elizabeth Kahley, Leon Elwood Rauch and Ethel Marie Hepner; nephew, Matthew Dreese.
Funeral services for Janet will be held at 1:00 PM on Wednesday, October 25, 2023, at Voss & Sons Funeral Service, 316 N. Chestnut St. Seymour, IN. Burial will follow in Riverview Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 12:00 PM until the time of the service Wednesday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be directed to the American Heart Association.
