Janet Sue Willey Dunbar

June 23, 1943 - December 18, 2015

Mrs. Janet Sue Willey Dunbar, 72 of Seymour passed away with her son by her side, Friday, December 18, 2015, at Schneck Medical Center.

Janet was born in Seymour, Indiana on June 23, 1943, the daughter of the late Harold and Mabel McNiece Willey.

She owned and operated Jan’s Beauty Salon and retired as a beautician after many years of service in Seymour. The then worked for Wal-Mart as Cashier for several years.

Jan enjoyed reading, watching Fox News, Nascar, Colts and Broncos football games, doing any kind of puzzles, and watching her grandchildren sporting activities. She loved her cats!

Jan married Harry G. Thompson in Seymour and he passed away August 1, 1989. She then married, Ronald S. Dunbar in Seymour on August 21, 1992 and he passed away November 18, 2015.

She is survived by her son Brad (Amy) Thompson, Step children Becky Mooney, Ginny Bishop, Matt Dunbar, Andy Dunbar and families, grandchildren Trevor, Abby, Nicole, Hannah, and Zachary Thompson, several step grandchildren, sister Judy Trapp and several nieces and nephews.

Jan was preceded in death by her parents, spouses and brother Harold Jack Willey.

A private memorial service will be held at a later date, at Voss Chapel and will be announced later.

Family request memorials be given to the Cortland Christian Church, through the Voss and Sons Funeral

Janet was like my second mom growing up. Brad was like a little brother. My mom and Janet really had a good time working together in Janet's beauty shop for many years. I am beyond sad today. Prayers to Brad and his family..........

Deeply saddened by Sue's passing. She was the second Mom to many, including myself. Always watching over me, offering words of advice and offering a good scolding when I needed it. She gave great "free" haircuts to me while I was in college. I would not be who I am today without her and her son, Brad's friendship. Prayers and comfort for Brad and family in this difficult time.
